Discovering Metadata Inconsistencies

This paper describes the use of fingerprinting-based querying in identifying metadata inconsistencies in music libraries, as well as the updates to the jMusicMetaManager software in order to perform the analysis. Test results are presented for both the Codaich database and a generic library of unprocessed metadata. Statistics were computed in order to evaluate the differences between a manually-maintained library and an unprocessed collection when comparing metadata with values on a MusicBrainz server queried by fingerprinting.
